If you’ve swung by Poppet before you’ll probably be no stranger to our next ‘Golden Boy‘ subject, the lovely Amy Kaehne. Amy’s effortlessly cool clothes make everything else in your wardrobe look like it’s trying too damn hard and should just shut up and do as Frankie says: Relaaaax.

The lady herself is the perfect embodiment of the Amy Kaehne label – gorgeous, beyond adorable, and pulls off that whole ‘super-chic-world-traveller’ thing like it ain’t no thang.

Amy was kind enough to let us come and shoot her in her Golden Boy in between working on collections and moving studios….

“My Golden Boy is my oversized patch coat. It was one of the first coats I ever designed and so it holds a real sentimental value. It is essentially a big blanket with a built-in scarf and although I haven’t worn it much this winter, it has been a well loved piece for many years. This coat has also travelled with me throughout the UK and Europe as it doubles up as a doona on the road. The texture and fabric reminds me of growing up in New Zealand in the 90’s when the Swandri jackets were all the rage!”

I’m a sucker for a puffer vest. Not that I’m incredibly ‘outdoorsy’ but I have a thing for the ‘outdoorsy’ look. I love a pair of hiking boots, the odd backpack and have been known to occasionally wear a fur hat with flaps (very occasionally). So this Marni plaid puffer is fitting in perfectly with my faux-adventurer wardrobe.

The incredible Katerina Chang channels a make up look worthy of Tina Chow – perfect for a Friday night hitting the tiles.

Make Up maestro Joel Babicci spills the beans on a few tips, tricks and products to achieve the look.

“Start with a clean, perfect base. Line the eyes using a black kohl pencil and blend up with black eyeshadow (we used Chanel Le Crayon kohl and Nars Night Breed black eyeshadow).

Then apply a dark grey shimmer shadow above the black and blend up to just below brow bone (YSL ombre’ solo in smoky grey).

Above this apply a pale silver shimmer and blend up over the brow bone (Nars shadow in bombshell)

Then apply a dark red lipstick (YSL Pur Couture Le Rouge) and voila! You’re good to go!”

How cute are these? ‘Vellies’ or Veldskoen’s are Namibian desert boots made by Shier Shoes and I’m thoroughly obsessed with the collab they did with Opening Ceremony (in particular these blue, red & leopard numbers.) Handsewn from two pieces of kudu hide, the boots are all made by a workshop of eight Damara men on the Namibian coast.

Also brilliant are the campaign shots below featuring some local Namibian cool cats….so good huh?!

A little Thursday afternoon treat…Cutie Kendal channelling a little je ne sais quoi with a touch of Birkin and Bardot thrown in for good measure. Bon appétit!
